上图为电弧悬浮区熔炉,用区域熔炼法可制取六硼化镧单晶。LaB_6为近代的一种新型阴极发射材料,它具有优异的电子发射性能,电子逸出功低,电子发射密度大,被轰击性能稳定,寿命比钨丝高几十倍。广泛应用于电子显微镜、电子探针、电子束曝光机、质谱仪、衍射仪、能谱仪等方百。包头冶金研究所目前已可制取φ8×40mm的LaB_6单晶棒,棒见下图。
