Adults, like the average school student, are often formalistic and dogmatic about what they have learned about chemistry when they are learning chemistry. For example, for some basic concepts of chemistry, basic laws and theories, it is often accustomed to using the simple method of rote learning to obtain a memory that is not consolidated, so that only knowledge of the superficial meanings can not be obtained and can not be thoroughly understood To their essence, but can not use this knowledge to solve practical problems. For example, some students can correctly write Ca (OH) 2 + CO 2 = CaCO 3 ↓ + H 2 O but do not know how to test for carbon dioxide. They can recite the word solubility definition but can not handle the calculation.
