“The Book of Songs” is the first collection of Chinese poems, poetic nature is its most essential attribute. However, since the Han dynasty started from the respect of Confucian classics, under the view of Confucian classics, the Book of Poetry gradually departed from the poetic traits and was endowed with heavy study of theology and pushed the altar of Confucian classics to bear the important task of spreading the Confucian classics. With the development of the study of the Book of Songs to the Ming Dynasty, along with the emergence of a new trend of thought and theory of poetics in the mid Ming Dynasty, an upswing in the literary interpretation of The Book of Songs enabled the study of the Book of Poetry to realize the essential return to the poem from the Classics, establishing The Important Academic Status of the Book of Songs in Ming Dynasty.
