在生产大跃进中,曾经涌现出很多“蚂蚁啃骨头”的加工方法,这些方法给机械制造工业开辟了一条新的道路。“机械工人”(冷加工)58年11期22页介绍的“在插床上利用圆盘加工齿轮的方法”就是其中的一种。那篇文章所介绍的方法,可以解决没有大型切齿机床的困难。但是用那篇文章介绍的方法,精加工后所得到的齿形仍然是不准确的。因为在精加工时刀具以插床圆盘的中心为圆心,以刀尖到圆盘中心线(垂直于工作台方向的中心线)的距离为半径,所以在工件齿面上切出的一段是正圆弧线。当被加工齿轮齿数比较少时,齿形误差就比较大。现在介绍一种基圆展成法可以避免上述缺点。
