Noncompaction of the ventricular myocardium is a rare congenital heart disease and its main clinical manifestations are heart failure, thrombosis and arrhythmias. It can be diagnosed by echocardiogram and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. This patient was admitted to our hospital because of heart failure, and was diagnosed as ischemic cardiomyopathy by electrocardiogram, echocardiogram and coronary angiography. But the echocardiogram showed cardiac hypertrophy. After cardiac magnetic resonance imaging,we eventually found that the noncompaction of the ventricular myocardium was another important etiology.
