基础的好坏对建筑物的寿命起着决定性的作用,特别是水利水电工程建设。因为要使水工建筑物坚固耐用,首先必须有坚突可靠并且不漏水的工程基础。因此,工程地质勘测工作,随着国民经济的发展而日益重要。在反动派统治的时代里,根本就没有大规模的工程建设,而且中小型工程也做得很少,所以也就不重视工程地质勘测工作。工程地质这门科学,在旧中国是个空白点。解放后,长江流域的水利水电建设,提到了国家建设的日程,地质勘探队伍必须在“空白”的“基础”上组织起来。十年来,由于党的重视,从无到有、由小到大地建立了地质勘测力量;加以各兄弟单位的援助,获得了很大的成绩,完成了长江流域规划和各枢纽设计的地质勘测任务。

After the liberation, the water conservancy and hydropower construction in the Yangtze River Basin mentioned the agenda for national construction. Geological exploration teams must be organized on a “blank” basis. In the past ten years, due to the party’s attention, the power of geological surveys has been established from scratch and from small to large. With the help of various fraternal units, great achievements have been achieved and the geological survey tasks of the Yangtze River Basin Planning and hub design have been completed. .
