李红旗的《好多大米》变成了不太地道的黑白片出现在投影屏幕上时,观众情绪热情。2004年夏天的时候,南京作家韩东身现北京,为了出演李红旗的这部影片:还有诗人于小韦擅长玩弄 DV 机而出任摄影师:还有在北京因为拍电影被中央电视台请进了“人物”栏目的朱文,他们是好朋友,是影片的监制。李红旗留长了头发,在正式被介绍前扎起马尾辫,更加清秀了。影片高调地从左小祖咒《美好一天》开始,气氛缓和,充满尴尬,和尴尬演绎出来的怪里怪气。大家被小何向毛老师问的“你对巴以冲突怎么看”逗笑了。如果说在世俗生活中消解一个正经话题,那么还不如说是一个虽是世界问题的问题淹没在了无聊怪诞的日常生活中。影片充满了生活之中那些有点意思,或者符合作者一些情趣的地方,这些略显尴尬的荒唐、幽默,在观众的笑声中得到了印证。梦境中,毛老师将自己虚拟梦幻成一个贼,蒙面去锯断一棵盆景树,然后将这个原本可以随时抬走的盆景树盗走;在虚拟的非现实中,毛老师一厢情愿地将两个白天发生争执的一老一少莫名其妙地归为一对一见钟情的同性伴侣:还有毛老师打电话报警,他实际举报的正是他自己参与其中的盗窃事件……这些更加具体地演绎出了作者李红旗眼中的怪诞现实,作者本人显然并不想留给观众唯一通道来解读自己的作品。也许正如同编导本人李红旗以前曾对作为音乐人的左小祖咒的理解一样——“没人知道他在说些什么,包括我在内,朋友。”左小祖咒的超级龙套角色并非过场,形象未变,简单的台词语调让人听不出那个唱《美好一天》的嗓子。他藏在夏天里的皮礼帽下预言毛老师和小何两个人中一定有一个人可以当上干部……毛老师激烈的矛盾心理暗示着他难以平静,在睡梦中依然断然回绝算命先生对他的预言:“我不想当干部,我只想做一个普通群众。”他内心不够明朗,连自己都不能清晰起来。还是在梦境中,摘掉蒙面后的毛老师想着也许是一段空白的心事,被算命先生撞见,他低调地降低着自己的欲望。他在梦中乱语直至惊醒自己。毛老师被送走的时候,最终还是停留在了算命先生的摊子前,无声的对话,他很坦诚地聆听着。20多年前一部改编王朔同名小说《顽主》
