提到双语教学,就有必要先谈谈双语教育。《朗文应用语言学词典》给双语教育下的定义是“the use of a second language in school for the teaching of content subjects”。王孝成认为双语教育(bilingual education)是指在一个国家或地区的教育教学过程中,同时使用两种语言的现象。一种是学生的本族语(母语),另一种是学生所在地区的通用语言(第二语言)或学生所要学习的一门其它地区的语言(外语)。
When it comes to bilingual teaching, it is necessary to talk about bilingual education first. The Longman Dictionary of Applied Linguistics defines bilingual education as “the use of a second language in school for the teaching of content subjects.” Wang Xiaocheng believes that bilingual education refers to the phenomenon of using two languages simultaneously in the teaching and learning of a country or region. One is the native language of the student (mother tongue) and the other is the common language (second language) in the student’s area or the language (foreign language) of the other area the student is to learn.
