According to Fitzpatrick’s (2007) Response Word Classification, this study compares the response patterns of Chinese EFL learners and native speakers reported by Fitzpatrick (2007) with lexical tasks, and focuses on the similarities between learners’ overall and individual response patterns degree. The results show that: 1) there are systematic differences between learners and native speakers in the reaction patterns, which are as follows: learners tend to produce output-style related reactions while native speakers have more output-related responses; 2) learners The similarity of responses among individuals is significantly higher than that between individuals, indicating that learners have formed individualized and differentiated patterns of individual responses. 3) The possible causes of “intermediate association ” are semantic, phonetic, inflexible, misunderstood And other factors, the recessive performance of the language intermediary, phonetic approximate form of association and other words.
