Mills以及Mills和Randall报道,牛红细胞中除了过氧化氢酶(CAT)外,还有一种抗过氧化氢(H_2O_2)的酶(即以后的硒谷胱甘肽过氧酶se-GSH-px)。Schwarz和Foltz发现,硒有抗氧化作用。Rotruck等用~(75)se和Flohe等用中子活化实验确定硒是se-GSH-px的组成成分。Forstrom等证实,硒以硒代半胱氨酸形式存在,是酶的活性部位。Law-rence和Burk发现,组织中还存在一种不含硒的谷胱甘肽过氧酶(non-se-GSH-px)。现已知它就是谷胱甘肽硫转移酶(glutathione-S-transferase)。
Mills and Mills and Randall reported that in addition to catalase (CAT), bovine red blood cells also have an enzyme that resists hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2) (later selenium glutathione peroxidase, se-GSH-px) . Schwarz and Foltz found that selenium has an antioxidant effect. Rotruck et al. (1999) and Flohe et al. Used neutron activation experiments to determine that selenium is a component of se-GSH-px. Forstrom et al confirmed that selenocysteine exists in the form of selenocysteine and is the active site of the enzyme. Law-rence and Burk found that there is also a selenium-free glutathione peroxidase (non-se-GSH-px) in the tissue. It is now known as glutathione-S-transferase.
