Calibration angle encoders (or rotary encoders) are typically compared manually to mechanical reference standards such as precision index tables or polygon mirrors. Using this common method to calibrate all of the encoder’s indexing is a difficult task, requires skillful skill, and consumes a lot of time. This article describes an automatic calibration system for a wide range of digital angle encoders with high accuracy and efficiency.
