Zhongsi No. 2, a new high-quality early indica rice variety bred by China National Rice Research Institute, was popularized 7000hm2 in Cangnan County in 1997, accounting for 35% of the total area of high-quality early rice in the county. From 1996 to 1997, live cultivation was conducted on a straight-sown basis.
