It is often the case that Aitmatov will focus on the human spirit and morals, and Aitmatov’s discussion of the symbolism of philosophical mythology in his work constitutes a complete art world. Aitmatov is good at bringing these together, the guillotine is one such novel. The work portrays a tragedy to save the losers. Looking for faith in the new era is the essence of the novel. It consists of three main lines: a pair of Steppe wolves face the almost brutal development of human prairie, the survival of the tragedy; advanced pastoralist Earl of Buston in the real right to his evil oppression toward his personal end; from God College of Aifu to save persuasion as its own responsibility, and finally face the so-called “trial ” tragedy eventually died. All of these have given the Guillotine the solemnity of religion. This series of tragedies also shows the author’s anxiety about the society at that time, and also shows the author’s expectation of saving the last days of the religion, all of which are important features of Russian intellectuals.
