2005年夏,河南省文物考古研究所为配合地方建设,对汝州市东沟窑址进行了抢救性发掘,获得了重要的地层关系和精美青瓷、钧瓷器以及各类窑具等,对进一步研究东沟窑址的相关问题以及青瓷与钧瓷、钧瓷与汝瓷的关系等都具有重要的学术价值.
