为了推动热能与热工专业的科学研究工作,促进钢铁工业节能,由冶金部鞍山热能研究院发起的十一个大型钢铁企业热能研究室主任联系会于1991年9月10～12日在鞍山市召开,鞍钢、武钢、包钢、本钢、马钢、湘钢、抚钢、攀钢和天钢等九个大型钢铁企业的热能或能源研究室主任和代表12人参加了会议。重钢因故未能参加会议,但根据会议目的写来了他们能源科的情况介绍.鞍山热能研究院周大刚总工程师及该院热工系统有关研究科室等10名同志列席了会议。会议期间,鞍山热能研究院院长陈凤才同志会见了参加会议的同志.
