Rising from Hardship
February 23, Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, delivers an important speech at a meeting to advance work on coordinating prevention and control of COVID-19 and economic and social development.
“The Chinese nation has experienced many ordeals in its history, but it has never been overwhelmed,” said Xi.“Instead, it has become more and more courageous, growing up and rising up from the hardships.”
Xi asked Party committees and governments at all levels to continue their unremitting efforts in various prevention and control work and to resume regular work and production in an orderly manner.

China will boost agricultural production in the spring season through specific measures, according to a decision made at the State Council’s executive meeting chaired by Premier Li Keqiang on February 18. “At this critical moment of epidemic control, we must facilitate spring plowing and farming preparations while advancing outbreak response,” Li declared. “For such a large developing country like China, agriculture remains the foundation. We must tackle the outbreak scientifically and waste no time resolving outstanding issues affecting spring plowing.”
Protecting Medical Workers
