For a work, the ultimate requirement is innovation. This simple evaluation criteria confronts writers with the dual challenge of constantly surpassing themselves and seeking new and innovative ideas. On the other hand, they must also be familiar with the history of literature and avoid peers. Many hard-working writers sometimes sadly find themselves surpassing themselves without overtaking literary history. Even if Yuhua with a strong sense of innovation can hardly avoid this problem, “the seventh day” is an example. Yu Hua has made a lot of brains on the theme and method of “the seventh day,” showing all the efforts made by a feather-loving writer, but he still does not meet the expectation of readers who are hungry for innovation.
