This report aims to assess the utility of the concept of Metabolic Syndrome in four key areas. These four areas include pathophysiology, epidemiology, clinical work and public health. Metabolic syndrome refers to the accumulation of various metabolic abnormalities in an individual and causes health problems. This is often seen as an educational concept that has been limitedly used as a diagnostic or management tool. Further efforts need to be made to redefine the current understanding and understanding of it. It is difficult to compare the results of epidemiological studies using different metabolic syndrome definitions. Metabolic syndrome is an abnormal accumulation of metabolic status, rather than clinical disease. So it should rule out definite diabetes or cardiovascular disease (CVD). Future research should focus on: (1) further understanding of the common metabolic pathways underlying the pathogenesis of diabetes mellitus and CVD, including the accumulation of various metabolic abnormalities in the metabolic syndrome; (2) the early determinants leading to metabolic disorders in the body; 3) develop and evaluate strategies for reducing the risk of diabetes and CVD in the background population based on available resources for the components of the metabolic syndrome; and (4) develop and evaluate prevention strategies based on ethnicity.
