Preface Most known oil and gas reserves in the world are concentrated in relatively small areas. More than 80% of the world’s oil and gas discoveries are in giant oil (gas) fields (Halbouty et al., 1970), and the production of giant (gas) fields accounts for 65-70% of the current total production (Klemme, 1977). Therefore, analysis of the world’s oil and gas accumulations has focused on the analysis of giant oil (gas) fields and basins containing these oil (gas) fields.
