柽麻,又名太阳麻,是一种速生的夏季绿肥。在日平均温度20℃以上,土壤水肥条件适宜时,生长很快,苗出后,日增长速度可达1.5～3.0厘米。播种29天株高70厘米左右。养分含量高,含氮量0.78%,磷0.15%,钾0.30%。据我所化验,生长30天的柽麻,含氮量0.59%,比一般绿肥的养分含量高。我省气候温暖,生长季节长,作物种类多,可用于套种柽麻,还可利用其速生特性,在多种作物的茬口间,进行短期间隙抢种,增加一季绿肥收成。沿海麦茬早甘薯田,谷雨前后收大小麦,小满后才插甘薯,中间休闲了30～40天,可种一季柽麻以解决甘薯的包心基肥。早薯、豆薯、晚薯插后都有一个多月的畦边空隙,可供套种解决夹边肥;甘蔗田有2～2.5个
