The optical fiber communication system of FM-IM analog signal transmission has obvious advantages compared with direct intensity modulation and baseband analog transmission, and the signal-to-noise ratio can be increased by 1.7 + 201ogβFM (dB). This article attempts to find a suitable engineering design method for FM-IM optical receiver front-end in order to better determine the type of photodetector, front low-noise amplifier and its main parameters.
