Researchers at the University of Rovira-Wilgit, Spain, have found that eating different pulses, especially lentils, can lower the risk of type 2 diabetes among people with higher cardiovascular risk. The researchers conducted a 4-year follow-up survey of nearly 3,350 subjects with high cardiovascular risk but no type 2 diabetes and analyzed the association between the incidence of type 2 diabetes and average pulse intake.
