For the determination of trace amounts of lead, water-soluble porphyrin derivatives are used, whereas the determination of lead with water-insoluble porphyrin has not been reported. Due to the complicated and complicated procedures of synthesis and purification of water-soluble porphyrin derivatives, the types of water-soluble porphyrin derivatives are rather limited.
