中国电影“第六代”导演在他们上大学前后,都能感受到“第五代”所取得的巨大成功,这与宋代诗人一开始就面对几乎达到登峰造极境界的唐代诗歌艺术的情形非常相似。由于多方面的原因,“第六代”导演电影创作的前期阶段,不仅特别专注于自己曾经亲历或同在的现实社会生活及相对个体化的感受,而且也特别关注当代中国社会底层与边缘的生活及人物,在艺术审美方面则偏爱纪实主义与呈现相对异态的某些现实生活情景。
