Song Ziwen, the eldest son of the Song family, served as finance minister, foreign minister and chief executive of the Kuomintang government. He played an important role in the politics, diplomacy and finance of the Chiang Kai-shek era. However, as Chiang Kai-shek’s wife, Soong and the brother-in-law are both unjustifiable. Chiang Kai-shek retreated to Taiwan in 1949, Soong-wen parted ways to emigrate to the United States, died in San Francisco apartment in 1971. The personal files of Soong, including photographs, messages, letters, meeting documents and other historical materials, are important historical testimonies. They have been kept for long at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University in the United States and were not revealed until nearly two years ago. For a long time, Soong has been influenced by the real-life political stereotypes and has been determined in his lifetime without further study. By reading these historical archives, we can clarify some of the past impressions and evaluations.
