A research group at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the United States has developed a new technology that sets a new milestone in the strength and modulus of carbon fiber. The new technology uses jelly spinning technology to process polyacrylonitrile (PAN) copolymer to prepare carbon fiber. The strength and modulus of the new generation of carbon fiber have been developed are higher than any of the latest reported continuous fiber.
