笔者于2008年11月应邀以“法官”的身份参加了国际红十字会北京代表处主办的国际人道法模拟法庭竞赛中国区选拔赛。国际人道法又称为战争法或者武装冲突法。在这次模拟法庭竞赛的过程中,因为担任“法官”这一角色,使得笔者有机会站在中立的立场思考参与竞赛的各大院校的学生的表现,关注他们在法律适用能力方面的不足,进而使笔者有机会进一步研究有关国际人道法 In November 2008, the author was invited to participate in the trial of China International Tribunal for International Humanitarian Law Moot Court sponsored by the International Red Cross Beijing Representative Office as “Judge”.
