The annual Himalayas Karakorum Tibet Workshop (HKTW), which is attracting much attention, has been held for 16 sessions by 2001. This international scene for studying the geological evolution of the Tibetan Plateau in the Himalayas shows that many new “actors” and old “actors” star in the new “show” every year.
