中国传统药物莪术Ｃｕｒｃｕｍａｚｅｄｏａｒｉａ（姜科）在临床上被用于治疗子宫颈癌。本文报道莪术的乙醇提取物显示抑制ＯＶ－ＣＡＲ－３细胞（一种人类的卵巢癌细胞株）的活性，经进一步生物测定跟踪分离，得到生物活性化合物脱甲氧基姜黄素（ｄｅｍｅｔｈｏｘｙｃｕｒｃ
The traditional Chinese medicine Curcumazedoaria (Zingiaceae) is used clinically to treat cervical cancer. This article reports that the ethanol extract of Curcuma zedoariae has been shown to inhibit the activity of OV-CAR-3 cells, a human ovarian cancer cell line, and was further bioassay-tracked to obtain the biologically active compound demethoxycurcumin (demethoxycurc).
