由中国比较文学学会后现代研究中心、北京大学英语系、笔王创作中心、江苏省淮海工学院语言文学系联合发起的“20世纪中外文艺思潮”学术讨论会1994年5月5日至9日在江苏省连云港市举行。来自北美、欧洲及中国大陆的40多位专家、学者参加了讨论。代表们将着眼点放在中外文艺的相互影响和渗透上;同时对中国当代文学,尤其是90年代的文学表示了极大的关注,并力图用一种新的“代码”加以表述。这是本次会议的两个显著特点。 一、后新时期文学的分期研究与现状研究。王宁认为,后新时期并不是一个政治概念,而是一个专用于中国当代文学分期的文化概念,它的使用不必受制于意识形态和权威话语,而主要受制于特定时期的文化氛围和文学自身的运作规律。因而对后新时期这个文学概念的理解,就应当着眼于两个不同的层面:时间上的延续性和文学代码上的悖离性。从时间上来说,后新时期是伴随着“盛新时期”(1979—1989)的终结而来的,
Academic Symposium “20th Century Chinese and Foreign Literary and Artistic Trends” jointly sponsored by the Center for Postmodern Studies of the Chinese Comparative Literature Society, English Department of Peking University, Pen Wang Creative Center, Department of Language and Literature, Huaihai Institute of Technology, Jiangsu Province May 5-9, 1994 Held in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province. More than 40 experts and scholars from North America, Europe and mainland China participated in the discussion. The deputies will focus on the interaction and infiltration of Chinese and foreign literature and art. At the same time, they have expressed great concern about Chinese contemporary literature, especially the literature of the 1990s, and tried to express it in a new code. This is two salient features of this meeting. First, the post-new period literature staging and status quo research. Wang Ning believes that the post-new period is not a political concept but a cultural concept devoted to the Chinese contemporary literary staging. Its use need not be limited by ideology and authoritative discourse, but mainly by the cultural atmosphere and literature itself during a specific period The law of operation. Therefore, the understanding of the concept of literature in the post-new period should focus on two different levels: the continuity in time and the paradox in the literary code.
