联接螺栓一般需要预紧到使用载荷的75~80%,根据经验,这个预紧量对多数联接来说是适用的。但有些联接,外加拉伸载荷可使螺栓锁紧力减少到零,对这些联接来说,预紧力就不是75%或80%,而应更高些。在螺栓和被联接零件的弹性极限内,使锁紧力减少到零时的外加载荷值,可由下式计算: 使被联接零件不产生间隙所能承受的最大载荷也可由这一公式算出。因为只要定出公用γ值,最大载荷就可以据上面公式为基础绘制 Bolts generally require a preload of 75 to 80% of the used load.
