The contents of copper, zinc, iron and magnesium in serum of 50 children with nephrotic syndrome and 28 children with glomerulonephritis were determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometry, and the relationship between these elements and the above diseases was discussed. The results showed that the levels of serum zinc in nephrotic syndrome group and glomerulonephritis group were significantly lower than those in normal group (P <0-01). There was no significant difference between serum iron and magnesium in normal serum and serum zinc. Serum zinc and serum albumin , Globulin content was significantly positive correlation. Serum Cu in the nephrotic syndrome group was significantly lower than that in the normal group (P <0-01). There was no significant difference in serum Cu between the glomerulonephritis group and the normal group, and serum copper concentration was positively correlated with serum albumin and globulin . Suggesting that these changes are related to the occurrence of the disease and the state of the disease
