Fas/FasL系统在介导细胞凋亡过程中起着重要的信号传递作用。在许多神经系统疾病中,凋亡在疾病的发生、发展中起重要作用,如在脑缺血、多发性硬化(MS)、阿尔茨海默病(AD)以及神经肌肉病中,均发现有Fas/FasL系统表达水平的变化,提示该系统可能参与了神经系统疾病的病理生理过程。
