“我家是西兰卡普编织世家,在当地较有名气。我12岁就跟着祖母开始学编织。当时我就觉得西兰卡普很好看,一下就爱上了这门工艺。祖母觉得我心灵又手巧,就毫不保留地把手艺传给了我。”这位生于1955年的“织女”刘代娥口里的西兰卡普就是土家织锦。在刘代娥的家乡——湘西龙山县苗儿滩捞车河村,这里绿水潺潺、古树参天。村里的土家女子们在青春年少十来岁时就开始跟随长辈学习织花,在青山绿水中织就土家人生活的点点滴滴,传承着土家人的民族记忆与审美情操,编织着土家女子的美好期望。刘代娥,就是这群女子中的一员。
