文章简介来自野油菜黑腐病黄单胞杆菌的致病蛋白AvrAC通过对植物免疫激酶BIK 1进行UMP修饰,从而抑制植物的天然免疫信号。但有些植物可以识别AvrAC,进而激活另一条免疫途径,但参与识别的组分和机制并不清楚。本研究发现,植物中的另一个蛋白PBL2也能被AvrAC修饰。有趣的是该修饰不仅对细菌致病毫无益处,反而使植物具备识别AvrAC,激活胞内免疫反应的能力。
INTRODUCTION AvrAC, a pathogenic protein from Xanthomonas campestris pv. Campestris, inhibits plant innate immune signaling by UMP modification of plant immune kinase BIK 1. However, some plants recognize AvrAC, which in turn activates another immune pathway, but the components and mechanisms involved in recognition are not clear. This study found that another plant protein, PBL2, can also be modified by AvrAC. Interestingly, not only does the modification not benefit bacterial pathogenesis, it gives plants the ability to recognize AvrAC and activate intracellular immune responses.
