暴力及酷刑的书写一直是文坛上极其富争议的话题,如何真实客观地再现酷刑,也是许多作家致力解决的问题。库切小说《等待野蛮人》最为显著的特征是主人公对酷刑及其相关问题孜孜不倦的探究,而这也恰恰体现了库切再现酷刑的独特方式——对酷刑进行冷峻而克制地刻画,同时进行批判性的思考,从而避免利用作家话语权非客观地再现酷刑,进而陷入语言暴力的泥潭。
The writing of violence and torture has always been a highly controversial topic in the literary arena. How to represent the truth and objectivity of torture is also a problem that many writers are trying to solve. The most notable feature of Coetzee’s novel Waiting for the Barbarians is the protagonist’s tireless inquiry into torture and related issues, and this precisely reflects the unique way in which Coetzee reproduces torture - a grim and restraining portrayal of torture Critical thinking so as to avoid using the discourse of the writer to reproduce the non-objective objectively the torture and then fall into the quagmire of language violence.
