The previous reports on the toxic effects of asbestos have been reported differently in asbestos samples because of their large differences in composition, mineralogy, physical and chemical properties. To this end, five standard asbestos samples set by the International Union Against Cancer are introduced: two types of chrysotile (A and B) in serpentine, three in amphibole: amosite, crocidolite and Derived anthophyllite. The authors studied the lipid peroxidation that occurs in erythrocytes exposed to several asbestos dusts.
