The actual space of a library site and a library is fundamentally different. Readers gain a sense of place by acting in a library setting, a sense of place that has the power to help readers identify self-identity, stimulate imagination, and change the worldview of individuals. In the digital library, the readers’ understanding of the symbol and the process of producing the meaning are not essentially different from those of the traditional library. That is, the sense of place of the meaning space is generated at the same time with the perception of the actual space. Therefore, the appearance of digital library does not change the relationship between the actual space and the meaning space in the traditional library, but extends the reader’s sense of place to the library.
