Chinese people have been relocating overseas for a long time. As far as the Hakka people are concerned, a number of young people known as Songkou, Meixian County, known to the Song and Yuan dynasties (13th century, 80’s) have settled in Kalimantan Island in Indonesia today and have gone to the Nanyang (now Southeast Asia) Hakka more It can be seen that Hakka migrated overseas and started from the development of the islands in the South Pacific for six or seven centuries. By the middle of the 19th century, due to internal and external causes (the West engaged in contract laborers; the failure of the Taiping Rebellion in China, etc.), Hakka continued to relocate overseas in large numbers, especially in Meixian, Guangdong Province. The saying goes: “There is a constant interruption in Meizhou Packers (overseas Chinese) House ”, a total of 600,000 overseas Chinese and Chinese (including this Meijiang District), known as“ hometown of overseas Chinese. ”
