The relationship between hardness, microstructure and residual austenite content and quenching temperature and the changes of hardness and residual austenite content after tempering were introduced in the condition of quenching temperature of 1 minute to 6 hours. I. INTRODUCTION 7% Cr steel (Thyrodur 2690) is one of the main materials used in the manufacture of cold rolls. The average chemical composition is shown in Table 1. It is suitable for quenching furnace and salt furnace in the overall system of quenching, but also suitable for induction heating surface hardening.
