世界经济论坛是以研讨世界经济领域存在的问题、促进国际经济合作与交流为宗旨的非官方国际性机构。它由现任论坛主席、瑞士日内瓦大学商学院教授克劳斯·施瓦布于1971年创建,总部设在日内瓦。从每年一月的最后一个星期四开始在瑞士达沃斯召开年会。由世界高层次、有影响的全球领导人、企业界首脑和知名专家组成,参加该论坛的企业会员包括全球70多个国家和地区的1000多家大公司和企业,它们的年营业额合计超过4万亿美元。
The World Economic Forum is an unofficial international body that studies issues existing in the world economy and promotes international economic cooperation and exchange. It was founded in 1971 by Kris Schwab, the current chairman of the Forum, a professor at the University of Geneva Business School in Switzerland, and headquartered in Geneva. From the last Thursday of January each year, an annual meeting is held in Davos, Switzerland. By the world’s high-level, influential global leaders, business leaders and well-known experts, members of the forum to participate in the world, including more than 70 countries and regions, more than 1,000 large companies and businesses, their total annual turnover of more than 4 trillion dollars.
