词的象征意义和民族文化紧密相联。不同的民族之间存在着不同的文化差异，因此词的象征意义在不同的民族语百中，既有共性也有个性。甚至字面上相同的一个词，由于民族习惯不同，会产生出完全相反的象征意义；或一种语言中有象征意义，而在另一种语言中并不存在；或表示同样的象征意义，却用不同的词来表示，有时这种象征意义是一种语言中独有的。其所以如此，是由于民族文化的特点和差异使之然。
The symbolic meaning of the word is closely linked with the national culture.
