10年前,36岁的杨晓阳挑起了西安美术学院的领导重担。由于工作关系,我与杨晓阳在电话里有了多次交流,电话那端好似一个强大的磁场慢慢释放着巨大的能量,这种感觉在随后的每次交谈中都逐渐加强。事实上,杨晓阳正做着一件件大事,每件大事都做得令人兴奋——从1994年大美院蓝图的最早提出到大写意理论与实践的验证,西安美术学院已成为影响中国美术的重要力量。杨晓阳作为画家,有一批令人震撼的有影响力的作品,作为一院之长,一名美术教育家,又展现出了领导者的眼光、志向与气概。2004年12月在翰海的拍卖会上,杨晓阳于1983年创作的作品《黄河艄公》以46.2万元的高价成交,1994年创作的作品《波斯迎亲》也拍出了24.2万元的高价。杨晓阳说这两件作品的售出,是对过去艺术探索的一段总结。艺术作品可以用价值来体现,但探索的历程及意义却无法以金钱来计量。事实上,杨晓阳还在做着另一件更有价值,用金钱无法计量的事情,那就是收藏。杨晓阳的收藏品不仅数量惊人,惊人的更是他那收藏的博大精深内涵。
