Over the past decade, revolutionary advances have been made in information conversion, information processing and information measurement technologies, leading to a significant increase in capacity and speed for small-scale information systems. From optical communications to medical light sensors, the development of optoelectronics is a leader in several modern technologies today. While it will continue to play a key role in information networking systems, integrated optoelectronics will open up a promising future for parallel computing technologies.
