Objective To investigate the expression and correlation of TSP-1, CD44V5 and erbB4 in different breast lesions. Methods The expression of these genes was detected by immunohistochemical S-P method in breast fibroadenoma, lobular hyperplasia and invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC). Results The protein expression of erbB4 in IDC was significantly higher than that in the other two groups (P <0.05). The expression of TSP-1 and CD44V5 was not related to the type of tissue (P> 0.05). The expression of TSP-1 was positively correlated with erbB4 = 0.404, P <0.05), but no correlation was found between TSP-1 and CD44v5, CD44v5 and erbB4 (P> 0.05). Conclusion The expression of erbB4 may promote the occurrence of breast IDC. The expression of TSP-1 is positively correlated with the expression of erbB4.
