诸如振动输送机、锻压机、气锤等运用振动与冲击的机械,若减小机械内的振动加速度与冲击力,其作业就不能实现,故而失去意义。在这种场合,如不防止机械的振动冲击向外传递,恐怕会引起振动公害与振动病(白老病、职业病)。此外,对汽车互相冲撞、船舶靠岸等不希望产生冲击力的场合,在冲撞物体之间加上缓冲装置以减小冲击力。在上述的例子中,车辆缓冲器、减震器就起到了缓冲装置的作用。以下简单地说明防振与缓冲技术的本质,特别要涉及到不同的使用实例及其效果。防振与缓

In addition, where vehicles collide with each other or shipwrecks do not wish to generate impact, cushioning devices are added between the impacting objects to reduce the impact force. In the example above, the vehicle bumper and damper act as a cushioning device.
