Objective: To investigate the effect of soil-borne nematode infection on the growth and development of school-age children. Methods: Fifty cases of germinal nematode-infected school-age children screened out by CDC of Emeishan City were selected as study group, 50 healthy school-age children were selected as control group, Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, WISC) evaluated the cognitive performance of the two groups of subjects and compared them. Results: Compared with the control group, the indexes of cognitive ability in the study group were statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion: The infection of soil-borne nematodes seriously affects the intelligence and cognitive function of school-age children, which has a negative impact on their growth and development, and should be closely monitored.
