Recently, two groups of figures were read. One survey by China Youth Daily correspondents in nine colleges and universities in Lanzhou showed that 17% of students did not purchase an extra-curricular book in one year and almost 8% did not go to the library. The other is the “National Sample Survey of National Reading and Purchase Provisions” published by the China Institute of Publishing Science. The results show that only 51.7% of the nation’s literate nationals study,
