Alphabet words are frequently used in both Chinese and Korean. In order to compare the commonalities and differences in the use of the alphabetic letters between the two countries and summarize their developmental rules and causes, this paper summarizes the formation, reading and writing forms of the Chinese and South Korean alphabetic words, and the status quo of their use, and investigates their awareness and use. The survey found that both countries are open and forgiving about the use of letter words, accepting the existence of letter words in the language and expressing their willingness to continue using letter words in the future. In comparison, the attitudes of Chinese respondents showed more cautious attitude and emphasized the importance of standardization. From what we know, Korean respondents know more about letter words. The reason is that Chinese characters are ideographs. People have long-term sensitive dependence on the meaning of words, while the saying goes like phonograms, which is similar to the case of letter words. Therefore, Chinese are more willing to accept a free-translated Chinese word Better than alphabetic words.
