[Objective] To optimize the extraction technology of serotonin derivatives from seed meal of Hehuang Carthamus tinctorius L. by water reflux method.[Method]Taking the content of serotonin derivatives as index,the extraction technology of serotonin derivatives was optimized by means of orthogonal test with extraction temperature,extraction time,extraction times and solid-liquid ratio as experimental factors. [Result]The extraction of serotonin derivatives from seed mealof Hehuang C. tinctorius was impacted mostly by extraction temperature,followed by extraction time,extraction times and solid-liquid ratio. The optimal technologywas extraction temperature of 80 ℃ ,extraction time of 1. 5 h,extraction times of 3 and solid-liquid ratio of 1: 20 ( g / ml) ,with which the content of serotonin deriv-atives was 0. 66% . [Conclusion] This optimal extraction technology could provide basis for the development and production of Hehuang C. tinctorius seed meal.
